P I T Y R I A S I S _ R O S E A Liver

Mumbai. Buena Vista

Mumbai Rooftops

The sky is the limit. The blue is my ceiling. The horizon sets the frame. Mumbai - the metropolis situated on a peninsula in the arabian sea has it all. Here, almost every building with a hight of more than 10 storeys offers its inhabitants an exorbitant view over the city with the sea as a fantastic background.

This term we want to leave the ground and take a closer look at the rooftops from this metropolis. We think that they have a lot more to offer than what we find today. The Mumbai rooftops are looking for your great ideas to redesign them.

Almost all buildings in Mumbai have flat roofs that are usable as roof terraces. Sometimes watchmen use a niche within the terrace as their place to stay during the night. Sometimes people use a corner of the roof terrace to dry the laundry. But normally these roofs are kept blank and clean. The best places of Mumbai are unused and free! Free for your ideas.

Not rarely during the year the air in Mumbai is heavily polluted. Especially close to the main transit axis the air is bad plus the constant noise of horning cars, taxis and Rickshaws and its running motors are threatening the people. Height helps to escape from all this. Living far above the ground is clean and quiet. Mumbais rooftops offer convenient and comfortable places to stay.

Why not adding more green and plants to the roof terraces? They help to cool the whole urban context and offer its inhabitants a cool and comfortable private place in the outside. What happens to all the water during the monsoon season that hits the roof terraces? It should be easy to simply add a system of rainwater collecting in the roof terraces. When we redesign the rooftops in a modern and sustainable way, we can change the climate of the whole city and improve its abilities to sustain heavy monsoon rainfalls and long dry periods.

Almost anything is possible high above the ground. Only make sure that your design is lightweight, adaptable, easy to assemble at the place and sustainable. Will you design a garden café, a pool for the housing society situated in a jungle roof garden, or is it a small living pod for an artist who is using the roof terrace as his atelier garden? Will you connect several roofterraces with each other in a team of with your colleague students? Or maybe you like more the idea of having a yoga garden, a Bollywood dancing school or an internet café with a waterfall…?

This, and so much more is possible and it is all up to you. Have fun, and enjoy the wide panoramic view: Mumbai Buena Vista.

Pokemon Soul Silverenglish Action Replay

Public Space Design. Term 2009_4

In the heart of the Mumbai suburb Bandra lies one of the few open water tanks of Mumbai. Today this small artificial lake is abandoned and wasted. The surrounding urban context shows a high level of mobility. It is not only a central hub for the Taxis and Motorrickshaws but also has contact to the Bandra railway station.

The task is to transform this abandoned urban space to a site in the city that provides the surrounding with a usable recreation interface. Especially the connection of the urban space with green and parkelements and the water have to be solved. Additional activities that attract people and increase The total amount of users have to be implemented.

Brownies Thinking Day Ball

Back

After about 13 hours journey, we are less healthy and arrived back in Erlangen. Our plane lifted in Vancouver with 20 minutes late, but thanks to a strong tailwind we reasonably could again make up for. Nevertheless, it was pretty tight with the transfer flight to Dusseldorf, since we first had to pass through passport control and then again through the security check and took, as always when you're in a hurry, pretty long.
were on time before the boarding gate and we still before it could actually start on time - we would not have to wait three gentlemen who had only just landed in Miami. I hope that they would also done for us if we would have been too late. With 40 minutes late, we started our last leg and came Clock 14.01 (expected was 13.40 clock) again at the airport in Nuremberg.

A great trip with lots of impressions, 5GB of photos, 6136 kilometers, 2 countries, 7 states (2 Canada, 5 USA), 8 National Parks, 5 cities came to an end. Highlight for me was the Yellowstone National Park, followed by the National Parks in the Canadian Rocky Mountains (Jasper, Banff and Yoho), and Seattle.

A Labelled Diagram Of A Potato

Vanier Park, Kitsilano Beach and departure

Do not worry, we have not missed the plane and are also not back at home. The Vancouver International Airport has yet to actually free wireless internet and I use it just around the last entry in my blog to start.

tried 8.30am After breakfast we all our things in the suitcases and bags to pack. That this represented a challenge as always is not surprising. 10:15, we went again to the direction Vancouver Vanier Park From here you have beautiful views of the downtown and can walk along the shore to the Kitsilano Beach. Also located in Vanier Park to the Heritage Harbor, with a few wooden boats. Why the harbor, however, Heritage Harbor is, is something incomprehensible, for all the boats were built in the last 40 years.

13.30 clock on time we could make our rental car at Alamo and then check in for our flight. We stand at 16.20 clock in from Vancouver and are expected to end up 13.40 clock in Nuremberg.

Until then a great Saturday!

Breastfeeding And Ovulation And Spotting

Vancouver (Part II)

When we woke up this morning, outside was quite a fog. Therefore we decided not in the North Cascades National Park to drive, but right after Vancouver. After not quite 2 hours we arrived in Vancouver.

here moved slowly, the dark clouds broke and the sun at about 16 ° C forth. We tried our luck at one of the Harbor Cruise Tour and behold, they offered even more momentum. As of Saturday will be here but also an end to harbor tour and the winter season we go by May next year. On the 1-hour drive went past the Coal Harbor, Canada Place, North Vancouver and back again along the Stanley Park. We went with an old paddle steamer and were a total of 5 passengers. The tour guide was therefore better bring us to the sun deck and told us something about Vancouver. The city has chartered two cruise ships, even for the period of the Olympic Winter Games, which will then invest in West Vancouver and will serve as a hotel. What are the ships, however, did they do not.

Then we drove again to Gastown. Anyone who has followed closely the blog know that did not work the first day of the Steam Clock. The tour guide on the Harbor Cruise said, however, that this was simply the attraction of Vancouver and the clock is usually repaired as quickly as possible. So we tried our luck again and arrived punctually on the hour. So we were able to Westminster sounds - or listen to better the Westminster pipes in all beauty. Besides, the Gastown has of course to the souvenir shop. However, due to the Olympic Winter Games are many things priced, especially Vancouver 2010 when it says.

time Just as today we have not checked in during our entire trip in a hotel. The La Quinta Inn Richmond is located near the airport, depending on what we will do tomorrow yet, we should not have a long way to the airport.
was dinner at the White Spot in Richmond.

Broken Veins On Newborns Face

Boeing plant tour, West Seattle, Mercer Iceland and Outlets

Because our trip will soon be coming to an end and we did almost everything that we can now take things a little calmer. After breakfast at the hotel we started our clock at 9.20 to Everett. This is not 10 minutes from our hotel and there is also a part of the Boeing plants. In a 90 minute tour we entered one of the most voluminous building in the world, a hangar in which aircraft are put together. Huge cranes on the ceilings, fuselages, wings in various stages of production. The new Boeing 787, we could admire. In this there should be no more blinds for the windows, but they are electronically dark, in addition, sunlight or simulated night in the cabin and the guests are accorded on the plane to the new climate. Like a car, there is a base price for these aircraft, depending on what the customer selects then as extra equipment will increase the price. In addition, we saw the production lines the 747 and 777 Unfortunately, photos and videos banned during the tour.

the early afternoon we drove to West Seattle. On Alki Beach we enjoyed the weather, so today was again splendid: 18 ° C and sunshine. A stroll along the promenade, we had great views of the Seattle skyline. Surprisingly, it is here on the waterfront, a small version of the Statue of Liberty, which have established the Boy Scouts here.

Next it went to Mercer Iceland. After all, who wants to see how the rich live in Seattle so that is exactly right. Others also lives Bill Gates here, unfortunately we could not make up his property. On our way back we were still randomly over in Redmond. Which one or other of the city is safe to say something: the headquarters of Microsoft located here. But who thinks that this is a large building, has made a mistake. Not only are Microsoft Way adjacent buildings but also in the streets. About 37 buildings of the company were signposted!

17.30 clock we arrived at the Seattle Premium Outlets in Tulalip and spent the rest of the evening to the shops here closed by 21 clock. Dinner we had in Applebee `s. We stay in the same hotel as yesterday.

Trish Stratus Force To Strip

Seattle

The nice thing about today's hotel, was both a complimentary Continental breakfast and free parking included in the price of goods. So we left our car in the garage and ran less than 5 minutes to Seattle Center, where the monorail leaves. This elevated train brought us to the Westlake Center in downtown Seattle.

walked it the first market to PikePlace. This market is the oldest continuously operated weekly and fish market in the U.S. and on more than one maze-like levels. Directly across from the Pike Place Market is the first Starbucks store, which opened in 1971 been and is the only remaining company in the brown color. Meanwhile, the company has agreed to the Starbucks green.

ran along the waterfront we to Pioneer Square. Unfortunately, the Waterfront separated from downtown by a double-decker highway, the noise when walking but much gets on my nerves.

Pioneer Square is the historic district of Seattle. The waiting time until our next Seattle highlight was spent on the Observation Deck, the Smith Tower. The skyscraper of once the tallest building in the western United States was, is not even now the tallest building in the next Five city blocks. Nevertheless, one has from here views of the downtown.

mid-19th Century had been built at the Pioneer Square houses, but too late contemplated that there are in Seattle ebb and flow, and therefore also to build a functioning sewerage problems. 1889 and burnt down part of the buildings were constructed again increased. The actual street level is thus at least one floor below the current access levels. In an Underground Tour, we got to hear more details of the quarter, Seattle's history and the people, the Seattle because of their business ideas and ideas have made it what it is today. Even Wyatt Earp had a saloon in Pioneer Square. After 90min roam the subterranean passages we went back to light. The tour is really recommended and taken by the tour guides were funny and varied across.

Next, a Harbor Cruise was scheduled tour. During the 1-hour drive, we got a few details about the architecture of Seattle, the piers and the surrounding tell. Of course we had from the water and the best view of the skyline of Seattle. Given the beautiful weather: sunshine, blue skies and about 19 ° C, took me literally in my winter jacket to sweat.
through the city we ran back to the monorail to get back to go to Seattle Center. This was 1962 World's Fair, with the landmark in the skyline: the Space Needle. First, we still enjoyed some sun at the International Fountain, in the environment plays music that invites you to relax. Later we went to the 185m high Space Needle. Behind the photogenic skyline of Seattle, Mt Rainier loomed blurred out again. Although he could not see clearly, there are only 90 days a year where you can see it at all so beautiful.

In general we have with the weather more than lucky because Seattle is considered the rain capital of the United States. Not because it's raining here lots, but because it rains so many days a year. In the vicinity there are the Mountains from the Cascade Range and in front of the clouds rain on Seattle.

19.30 clock we took the car to Everett, 30 minutes north of Seattle. Here we will stay at the Best Western Cascadia Inn.

How To Tell If Cough Is From Lungs Or Sinus

Portland, Mt Rainier & Seattle

drove After breakfast at the hotel, first to Washington Park, which is also the International Rose Test Garden is located. Portland and the City of Roses is called. Since it was still pretty cloudy and the adjacent Japanese Garden for the first clock at 12 noon opening, we went back in de city. Meanwhile, there were again 19 ° C with sunshine.

The Pioneer Square, where also the oldest building in Oregon, the Pioneer Court House stands, we waited there were 12 strikes. Since then active in this space and the Weather Machine announces the weather for the next day. On a column appear consecutively
different animals, which symbolize the weather, one then stops and announces that tomorrow's weather, by the way still sprayed with water flowing from the tip. Through downtown and Chinatown, we went back to the car and back to the Japanese Garden. This is well designed and maintained on the hills of Washington Park and it also has views of Portland from Mt Hood. Unfortunately, it was a little hazy.

14 clock we left the city to the north to Mount Rainier National Park to drive. Unfortunately, this was the peak of the mountain shrouded in clouds and could only guess that there is such a mountain or volcano, which erupted the last time about 2000 years ago.

Continue our trip to Seattle and went after a stop to eat dinner, we reached the city also to clock 21.15. We stay at the Quality Inn in the City Center, next to the Space Needle. A first trip to the Queen Anne Hill to Kerry Park, we have also done the same. From here you magnificent views of the downtown and the illuminated Space Needle.

Waldorf Salad With Marzetti

Idaho, Columbia River Gorge and Portland

When we woke up this morning, I tried desperately to turn the light. When all attempts failed z0g I open the curtains and was quite surprised because I got to see. Last night there were white and about 9 ° C today was everything and it was still snowing - and we do not have ice scrapers. Power, there was not actually in the hotel. Accordingly, we have received only a meager breakfast. Someone is on the snowfall probably crashed into a power pole and has caused the power failure.

8.45 clock we went back on the interstate. We went on the historic Oregon Trail, in the past attracted the first settlers in the West. At 0 ° C and snow We were very glad to not have to drive over these hills with a covered wagon. Otherwise we would be in a week, have not arrived in Portland. After we crossed the border into Oregon, we had changed again in the Pacific time zone. We drove through the center of the half between the North Pole and the Equator marks. The snow had now turned into rain and when we were over the mountains, the weather better.

We soon found ourselves but in a "Dust Storm" again. However, we had been lucky, because in the neighboring state of Washington had the entire highway will be blocked. Thus we saw the first part of the Columbia River Gorge is not very much. In Marysville, we visited the Stonehenge replica, built as a memorial is. After some beautiful Lookout desedimentation the "Old Route 30," we made a stop at the Multnomah Falls, a waterfall, which falls on 2 levels 200m down.

came against 17 clock we had in Portland and 20 ° C in the evening sun. The largest city in Oregon, despite its population rather than prejudice Ulich. High-rise buildings may not be built, this can be found old small houses next to futuristic higher houses, there are many parks and small streets, next to even charging stations for electric cars. We walked first at Waterfront Park along, before we pass the City Hall came to the Portland Building. Here is also the 2nd largest copper figure of the United States, the Statue of Liberty. The Old Church of 1882 was also very clear.

sleep
we are today at the Holiday Inn Express in Portland. We had not booked because we were not sure at 910km journey, as we will get through. At night we have in the "Matador" eaten in a beautiful promenade near the Washington Parkes.

5 Days Before Period Discharge

Yellowstone National Park, Grand Teton National Park and Idaho

Shortly after 9 clock we went to the North Entrance of Yellowstone National Park. We also learned that open today 2 of the 3 roads closed again. Had we the last mitgteilt times, then we would have the 2.5-hour drive to save the north. Instead, we were now within 10 minutes at the Mammoth Hot Springs. We were immediately greeted by a herd of elk that had settled in front of the Hot Springs. The sources are arranged in terraces and here you can take a walk through the thermal area. So early in the morning, few tourists were traveling and on frozen grass glittered in front of the iridescent sources, the fog been emerging from the blue sky. The trees in this area are frozen normal. The inclusion of calcium carbonates, the veins are clogged up the trees, the tree can absorb water or other minerals, and we speak more conserved. Without leaves, only the gray trunks and branches - in the mist. This area is otherwise very dynamic. From one day to the other, the sources dry up and only for a day, a month or
for years.
But can through cracks or earthquake but also just as easily create new sources. In the area of Yellowstone National Park, thousands of smaller earthquakes measured annually. The last serious earthquake was in the 70s. For some comparison shots from the 7 0s, one could clearly see that the white terraces Formerly known today because of the reactions of sulfur and shimmering yellow-brown.

continued our journey, passing herds of bison to the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone. Breathtaking waterfalls, we could view it from an over look a few hundred meters. Here one of the full impact of a combination of the elements were made aware of. Also, this canyon has changed his appearance by the earthquake over time. landed on the way back to the domestic road we are in a small jam. They had left the car and stood a little further there with cameras and looked into the forest. Since we obviously wanted to miss anything, we ran back in the hope of a bear or other unusual animals to see. However, in a tree was just a big, thick, gray owl. And then as an outline? Big it was, however, already. Passing the West Thumb of Yellowstone Lake, we left the Yellowstone National Park, which we liked very well. In the 2 days we could not not see it all from the huge park, has for the most important springs and geysers, it was enough.

in the south bordering DC Grand Teton National Park. Although he is in close proximity to Yellowstone National Park, the scenery there is completely different. The mountains are higher and more rugged and covered the plains with small bushes, no spitting geysers or hot springs. During a short walk in the relative left Bay Could we heard for a change - nothing. Absolute silence, only occasionally interrupted to time by the rustling of a squirrel. Despite the meantime, we have found ourselves in "Bear Country" and everywhere the guidelines "Be Aware Bear" could read, we have no one see.

next town on our route is Portland in Oregon. The However, the journey time to 13 hours and we wanted to create a good piece today. Over the mountains (2580m), it went from Wyoming in the state of Idaho. In Idaho Falls we had to stop for dinner at the Thai saw the light while in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple background.

a hotel we had booked for tonight, not because we wanted to be flexible and did not know how well we get through. We found on the highway at an affordable Days Inn Twin Falls.

Mixed Wreslting Cartoon

Wild West & Yellowstone National Park

We started the day with a hearty breakfast at the hotel. Against 9.20 clock we left and reached Butte 1.5 hours Nevada City. This was one of the mining towns of the mid-19th century had their wedding. Since 1940, however, only 2 people lived there, people began to old buildings from all over Western Monatana collect and set up again. The museum was closed, however, thanks to what we unvrschlossenen door did not stop a short walk through the streets of the old city to make. Everything was deserted, the old wooden houses against a backdrop of snowy mountains - one can imagine a ghost town but pretty good. Nevada City is located right next to Virginia City. In this city living but still people and Main Street has been preserved as in the days of the Wild West. Today there are However, it ordinary shops and restaurants.

came after another 2 hour drive, we in the West Entrance of Yellowstone National Park. After we paid our $ 25 entrance fee, we were unfortunately also reported that some roads are closed. For some, there are times when one may happen behind a pilot car in the streets. That raised our plan, of course, completely in ruins, and we had to improvise. Luckily we had booked a hotel room for tonight, because it would probably Gelg on the wrong side of the park. So first we went towards Old Faithful. Past anglers in shallow water fished and the planes in which - probably Elks - roamed in the more mountainous area. We also passed a herd of bison. Already at the Entrance we have received information leaflets, which we point out the dangers arising from the encounter with a bison get. The animals are very heavy and can still run 3 times faster than a human.

The landscape here is truly unique. Everywhere were the fog that came out of the geysers. Here and there gushed forth from the cracks in the earth's surface, regelreht shot out of some water. The Baketerien and fungi that have grown up around this fire holes around glittered in the sunlight in different Colors to the green of the pines and the blue sky with a few white clouds.

The impressions can be difficult to describe, I hope that the images may reflect the landscape better. Of course, was the visit of the most famous geyser Old Faithful on the program. The eruption of this geyser can accurately predict up to 10 minutes as he breaks out in time of 80-90 minutes. Unfortunately, we arrived 5 minutes late and drove us out now so the time with a stroll through the surrounding Geysirgegend. The visitors have to walk on a boardwalk, as the earth's crust is very thin in most places and bubbling below the water already in front of him and could collapse. There are always new outbreak sites from which, over time geysers.
Then finally it was so far and less than 2 minutes before the predicted time, then he also brought out. A few feet high shot out of the water surrounded by a large cloud of mist. After 1.5 minutes the show already over, the geyser has reacted to. On the way back to the West Entrance we came again past a bison, this time he waded through the river now.

In Madison, we ate at the Bull's angle in the evening before we were flying off again heading north. We do tomorrow morning to visit the Hot Springs m'Mammoth we unfortunately due road closures can not easily accessible from the park's roads. Accordingly, we do tomorrow morning to be near the North Entrance. We stay at the Best Western Mammoth Springs.

My Daughter Didn't Invite Me To Her Wedding

Calgary, Head-Smashed-Buffalo & Glacier National Park

Today is a day behind us andstrengender. We started it with a breakfast in our hotel. You never stop learning, including on the North American breakfast. On entering the breakfast room we had already noticed the smell of waffle, but sitting around just to see the waffle iron. We assumed that the wafers are prepared by an employee. Only after a few minutes later a boy fills the dough from a vending machine and this poured into the waffle iron, we realized that the machine included the dough.

Today's Calgary tour, we started on the Scotsman Hill Park as the morning dew still glistened on the grass, we were already on the small terrace with views overlooking the skyline. We went to Fort Calgary. The museum stands on the site where once the troops of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police built their fort. The museum tells the history of Calgary, came from the life time
basis of selected families of different origin, the development since the first settlers here after the railway line also led to Calgary. Especially nice, we found the opportunity to attract even a real uniform of that time with jacket, hat and gloves.

In the inner city, we continued our round. The Devonian Gardens, a botanical garden on the top floor of a mall, are unfortunately closed until next fall due to renovations. So ran the Stephen Avenue Walk wr further along, a pedestrian zone right in the center. Passing through the Chinatown of Calgary, which is in fact the third oldest in the country we came to Eau Claire Market, a well known Einkaufmall. Immediately behind the Prince Iceland is in the middle of the Bow River. This well-maintained park offer views of the skyline once again, but from the north side. It should be noted at the skyline, that many find Kira in this picture. Calgary is a thriving town whose boom depends largely on the oil price.
On the way back to the car we passed yet on Olympic Plaza. This took place during the 1988 Olympic Winter Games, the Medailllenübergabe. Next door is the Sicha City Hall. The C-Train (Tram), we drove back into town a bit. The railway is in the downtown area soga free. Otherwise the city for pedestrians is designed very well. First, there are increased (about 50cm) paths to the trams and the so-called Walkways. It is in a building 1 floor high and at this level, this building is connected to the next. So one can move through almost the whole inner city without getting wet. At this level are usually businesses, so that has really made a city on the city. Drawback to the whole thing is of course the guide because you have to know firstly the progress of the building and then still choose the right Walkway.

to 13 clock we left Calgary and made our way to the border in the U.S..
Southern Alberta was again marked by vast landscapes, shimmering yellow prairie in the west were distinguished weak from the Rocky Mountains and the long road ahead of us. We passed through small villages which had been almost deserted. Before the border crossing, we made a stop at the Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Hill. On this mountain the Indians of the Plains, the buffalo have driven down and sent to their deaths. Below you needed the buffalo then only "cook".

the border with the United States, specifically in the state of Montana, was straightforward and after we had left all our fingerprints and U.S. $ 6 per person there, we could continue our journey. Just after the border is the Glacier National Park

This is the Going-to-the-Sun Road, her character best scenic road in North America. Unfortunately, this was only passable no0ch to Logan Pass, then take place in the Off-Peak Season works. We still went as far as possible to see in the hope next to the beautiful landscape with snow-capped mountains, lakes and easy bezuckerten white fir and a bear. Despite a short hikes we have found none.

We continued our journey for, as to Butte it was still a whole piece. Also in Montana, we only came for miles through town and not as if there was a time, so one could certainly 19th in the Century back feel. In some places, time seems almost be stopped. Tonight we will stay at the Best Western Plaza Inn Butte.

Makeup That Reflects Light

Yoho National Park, Banff Gondola and Calgary Tower

After a home cooked breakfast in the hotel room, we headed to Lake Louise. The weather today seems to be back on our side. Since there are 9 clock was morning, the lake was still in shadow and only a few mountains were lit by the sun. The silence was broken ever, Japanese aks a bus was released. So we drove on to the neighboring Moraine Lake. Again, this was still in shadow.

next target was the Yoho National Park. The little sister of Banff and Jasper is far less known but just as beautiful. Are situated there as There, the Takakkaw waterfalls that are among the highest in Kanda. Another highlight was the Emerald Lake. As its name suggests, shines in this beautiful Smaragdton, to the mountains - great! On the way back to Banff National Park, we were still passing a Natural Bridge. The water here has drilled its way through the rocks and thus created a natural bridge. It could run it, however.

we made our next stop in Banff. We decided at short notice because of the beautiful weather with the Mount Sulphur Gondola to about 2200m to go. But we were having a splendid view of the surrounding Mountains of the Rocky Mountains and Banff rewarded. We took a short hike to weather station before the cable car again went down.

about 16:30 clock we left the Banff National Park, reaching 17.50 clock Calgary, the Olympic city of 1988. As the sun was still shining, we drove straight into the city and went to the Calgary Tower. In a dizzying height you can stand on a glass floor and look over a hundred meters down. We enjoyed the view of the emerging city and the surrounding plains. On the horizon, one could still imagine the Rocky Mountains.

made after dark we are the hotel Comfort Inn and shot a couple of skyline shots.
In the hotel we have a heated pool with a slide! Of course we had to try out.

Tomorrow we will probably have no Internet. The trip report and pictures for this post will follow later.

Tabacco And Mouthwash

Maligne Lake & Icefields Parkway

Meanwhile, there are actually no longer surprised when we are wide awake at 7:30 clock. So we could also start the day early today. Unfortunately the weather was rainy and cloudy so we decided to Jasper for breakfast at a bakery.

on Malignant Lake Road, it was first to Medicine Lake. A fascinating thing about this lake is
that he really has no outlet, but in the fall, the water seeps into the caves, only to miles again to come to the surface. Now the end of September, the lake was drained and exposed to very many places the Erboden. We followed on the road to Maligne Lake to finally come. Here we had already booked tickets in Germany for a boat tour to Spirit Iceland. On almost every travel guide Kanda their characteristic small island is shown. Unfortunately, it was still raining when we clock at 12 noon competed our tour. The boat guide us tried to speak but the weather is nice We also had the privilege to drive with the smallest of boats. Our group consisted of only 6 people and that is we took the boat "Curly", which you usually can only charter for CAD 1500th During the trip began on the lake, then even snow - the first snow for this winter. Once on the peninsula, it was cold, but wonderfully quiet, the green trees and in front of the turquoise water. In the main season here are 3 vessels of 56 people and we have been there six of + Captain and Guide. Meanwhile it had stopped snowing and the cloud cover breaks up a little. After about 90 minutes we arrived back on shore. This boat trip was not really free as the most beautiful Canada's excellent. Even if we only see the cloudy version, the trip was worth it cannot fi.

Next stop was at the Maligne Canyon. In this limestone gorge, the water has dug deep and shaped figures. After this short hike, we began the drive south to Lake Louise. The road is known as the Icefields Parkway (# 93) and is praised as the most beautiful mountain road in Canada. We made a trip to the 23m high Athabasca Falls. The next stop were again waterfalls: the
Sunwapta Falls. The panorama dominated rapids and waterfalls. Along the ridge of the mountains, (Was the highest in the 2400m), past turquoise mountain lakes, over several mountain passes, we arrived at the Athabasca Glacier, part of the great Columbia Icefield, which sent its water into three oceans: Pacific, Atlantic and Arctic Ocean. defrosted on the way to the Athabasca Glacier remember years because boards like the glaciers in the last decades. Frightening when you look at where he was in 1982. On the glacier itself, it was very cold especially by the wind and the altitude hurt the ears.

Shortly after we crossed the border to Banff National Park. Against 18.50 clock we came
after 337km in Lake Louise. We had booked a hotel because our prices attributes but seemed a little too high. With the price range from the Internet, we went to Lake Louise Inn and behold, got a room which CAD was 20 under the Internet price. The end of the day was a dinner in the hotel restaurant.

On the road again ...

Also this night was relatively short. For a change, not because of the time difference, but because we wanted to get the ferry at 8:30 clock. Last night was the lady at the front desk told us that it was a very nice weekend and probably many have come to Vancouver Iceland. Therefore, the ferries yesterday also very crowded and it's not all been taken away. Our investment in a reservation for the trip was worth it.

was 6.30 clock to get up, pack up things and after one, for Canadian conditions rather extensive breakfast (sweet potatoes, Rüherei, sausages, ham and toast), we set out in the ferry. This is less than 5 minutes drive from the hotel. However, since you at least 45 minutes before departure with booking their tickets have had, we were already clock before the 7:45 ferry. The route from the Departure Bay in Nanaimo to Horseshoe Bay in Vancouver took min 1:45. Since it was still early in the Morgn was collected the mountains of the mainland before us in a bluish haze and Vancouver could only guess schemenhaftm by its outlines. During the tour we spoke to an elderly man who told us including some of the history of Vancouver Iceland.
Starting with the English, who settled in this area, the Indians ermoderten, the Forbidden Plateau on the refuge for the women and children and of the 100 foot tidal wave that struck about 3 years ago, the West Coast of the island.

From Horseshoe Bay we drove along the coast to West Vancouver Stanley Park, overlooking the meantime, it was 12 clock and Vancouver hung tight still Clouds. We were now our 8 - hour journey to Jasper in the state of Alberta. Starting from the wide, green farmland, led us our way north to the Rocky Mountains. The journey took us in part by the nothing, no town for miles. Ironically, there are the signs when the next petrol station is only after the last gas station. So, check first turn around and go 2-3 miles back of nowhere as there are no fuel. The nature of this track is quite varied: from coniferous forests, deciduous forests, prairies, short, steep mountains, to small lakes and rivers meandering along the road we were offered everything.

clock 19:50, after about 855km, we arrived at our hotel in Jasper. Well not really, because just before Jasper transgresses not only the border from British Columbia to Alberta, but also the time limit for Mountain Time, which means we have lost one hours and it was already 20:15 clock - is probably again a short night be ... Just to remind you: we are now for the next few days only 8 hours behind Central European Time Zone.

The Tonquin Inn where we will spend the night, has been recently renovated. As for us, the hot tubs in the garden then the weather was a bit too fresh yet (10 ° C by 21 clock) we went to the indoor pool which we had all to ourselves. Besides a pool, there is also a hot whirlpool.
